Adobe Connect 8 Service Pack 1 (SP1) is out now for licensed customers. To review “what’s new document” you can download the release notes by clicking this link.

If you are planning to upgrade/update to Connect 8 SP1, please be warned that Adobe is starting to enforce some licensing restrictions which were not active because of some ‘bugs’ until today. This release affects customers using Named Organizer licensing model.

Let me explain this change with an example. If you have 5 Named Organizer license, users who are not member of global Meeting Hosts group, won’t be able to start meeting rooms even if they are assigned as host to those meeting rooms. This means, you will have to spend a Named Organizer license for every user you wish to be Meeting Host in specific meeting rooms.

The correct licensing/buying scheme would be to buy Named Organizer licenses equal to number of meeting rooms / or meeting hosts.
